Well here it is, possibly the nicest 3rd axis gimbal mount you will ever find...

The 250mm tripod legs are extremely tough and can handle a good 10kg of weight down on them.  Tough high density foam rubber feet protect the ends of the 12/10mm CF tubes.  They are now also further out from the centre giving better ground stability.

Yaw balance is now easily adjusted by inserting a hex screwdriver through one of the four top holes in the interface bracket at the top and loosening the four screws around the yaw motor as well as the two screws holding onto the rear brackets.  You can then slide the yaw motor/legs forward or backwards with a 44mm range of travel.  Once the yaw balance is found you just tighten the accessible screws from the top and on the rear brackets, then attach the entire assembly onto the base of your multicopter.

The iPower 5208H-180T with a hollow core and wire slip ring provides the required torque to turn the yaw axis cleanly while allowing unlimited 360 rotations with the gimbal control board wired up to the electronics on board your multicopter. 

A wide range of roll motors under 55mm in diameter can be mounted to the back plate and a number of convenient 45x45mm control board mount positions are available along the back plate.  Any of my NEX sized gimbals or any other gimbal of that size will be very easy to attach to this gimbal mount to give you a three axis configuration.

​A simple interface for larger multicopters using the 155/12mm dual rail mounting system (S800 etc.). If your mutlticopter blades and motors are accurately balanced to the point where there is minimal vibrations, the rubber grommets should be enough to remove the residual vibration to the camera.  Since no rubber damper balls are involved, you save around 150g.

​A simple interface for mid-sized multicopters using the 59/10 or 12mm dual rail mounting system (Tarot 650 etc.). F550 Damper Interface (+185g) : $66

​An advanced interface for the DJI F550 center hub which connects to the outside rings of the lower plate. It uses the same parts as the 59/10 or 12mm interface with dampers, allowing you to change over to dual rail for other multicopters just by adding four grommet mounts.


All up weight of the 3 axis mount as pictured in the product images is 630g (this includes the 5208 yaw motor with 12 wire slip ring, 3 axis AlexMos controller and 155/12mm grommet mount). This assembly replaces any landing gear/skids you currently use.  It also replaces any existing mount you have connected to the back of the gimbal roll motor of your current gimbal, if you have one ;).

Please note that I have personally found that the minimalist rubber grommet mount (as pictured in the product images) is just right at removing any jello effects in the video.  I personally think the rubber ball mounts are overkill and just add to the amount of unnecessary flex of the gimbal under the multicopter.  I also found that toning down your flight controller PID/gain settings helps reduce low frequency wobbles when the multicopter flies through disrupted air (at least that is what I found with the Naza and APM flight control boards).  The "mushier" the multicopter feels in the air the less you will see shakes on the video when the wind starts to blow on the multicopter.  A snappy, rock solid stabilise mode just causes frame jitters in disrupted air flow.  It is better to let the multicopter flop around in the air slowly than do a quick bounce as it corrects its level attitude - the gimbal can keep up with that, not snappy quick wobbles.
